Cryoguard Corporation was founded in 1984 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It is a division of Controlled Chemicals Inc.

Cryoguard Corporation manufactures and distributes a line of subzero temperature sensors called Cryoguard Thermal Exposure Indicators. The company is a leader in quality control for cryogenic materials.

Cryoguard Corporation’s owners invented the indicators in response to a request from U.S. Navy scientists. Navy researchers wanted to develop a temperature sensor that could ensure the quality of blood products being shipped to the battlefield. Over the years, the indicators have proved useful for a broad range of medical and commercial applications.
